Hello, my name is Jay Karp and I am the Co-Owner of DJSports.  I just wanted to let everyone know that following our last meeting, the decision was reached to shut down our little
video production business.
The workload that is involved to do the types of videos we made, was so high, that all of the projects we were taking on were actually costing us money to produce. The only real
income we would have was to come from the sales of the videos themselves. Due to many reasons, financial and otherwise, no one seemed interested in purchasing the videos
anymore. For example, two of our normally biggest selling videos, girls basketball and boys basketball, sold a combined 7 copies this year. As a result we lost money in the Fall and in
the Winter, and now in the Spring we have only two projects, that we will finish as we had agreed to, but after that... DJSports will end production.
When told, many times, we don't charge enough money for the work we do, we had to remind people that the athletic team's budgets couldn't afford to pay what the project would
cost, if you charged them what it should have been. So as a result, on the project fee alone we were in the hole money-wise. When no one purchased the videos, we just took a beating.
It would be irresponsible of me to continue burning the candle at both ends, only to lose money on every project we do.
The business had a definite niche, and was a one of a kind thing. I still believe that there was a lot of possibilities for a business like this. I have not ruled out a return to the video
production world...in fact, we would still like to consider TV production, but that would come later.
So I would like to take the time to send out a warm thank you to all of the customers we have had and the great compliments we have received over the years. I would also like to
thank all of the people who have assisted us in any aspect of the Video Production process.
      God Bless You All.
