From the time I first read anything about Harley Poe, I was
intrigued. The perfect blend of fantastic acoustic musical
wizardry with a touch of horror and comedy.
Being a horror movie buff, particularly crappy horror movies, I
was fascinated by his concept.
The band did not disappoint.
I saw them first at the Kokomo Acoustic Music Festival last
summer. The show caught my attention and held it tight. The
band ran through a set of about 10 songs and mixed with the
on-stage humor, kept the audience glued.
I purchased a CD at the event and listened to it, over and over
and over again.
A week later, I was watching them again. Several days after I
had seen them live for the 3rd time.
I managed to meet Joe Whiteford and professed my loyalty to
him. In reality, I told him that I would be honored to try to work
on a project with him.
A working agreement is in place now between DJSports and
Standard Recording...Harley Poe's label. To produce a DVD of
Harley Poe live in concert.
"The Ghastly Worst of Harley Poe" will hopefully be released
early in the fall of 2006.
Harley Poe's, "IN THE DARK" cd, comes in a little
hard-bound book with illustrations and writings
from Joe Whiteford.

DJSports became an instant fan of Harley Poe
and offered to compile several of their LIVE
shows into a "best of" concert DVD.
While we haven't been able to get to very many
of their shows on their busy schedule. We
maintain our desire to film every chance we get.
Here is a trimmed down version of their song, "I
Could Always Eat Your Brain."
